Sarcomatoid variant of anaplastic large cell lymphoma: a diagnostic challenge

چکیده
Sarcomatoid variant of anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) is an extremely rare variant of ALCL with an abnormal morphology and immunophenotype, which is easily misdiagnosed as a high-grade sarcoma, poorly differentiated cancer or melanoma. Here, we reported the case of a 7-year-old boy with a sarcomatoid variant of ALCL involving the right neck lymph node, and compared it with those of the reported cases.

Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma Associated With Breast Implants
A forty two years old woman with a history of bilateral breast augmentation for cosmetic reasons was presented for poor healing of the surgical site. Tissue and periprosthetic fluid were removed from the wound site revealing an atypical lymphoid infiltrate. Subsequently the patient developed axillary lymph adenopathy. Excisional biopsy was performed. Flow cytometry was non-diagnostic. She conti...

Background and Objectives: Classic Hodgkin lymphoma (CHL), anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) and some cases of diffuse large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL) have overlapping morphologic features. Since they all represent distinct clinico-pathologic entities, we explored the differential diagnostic impact of immunophenotyping to discriminate between them. Materials and Methods:...
متن کاملAnaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma Associated with Breast Implant: A Case Report
Primary breast lymphoma represents less than 1% of all primary breast malignancies and most primary breast lymphomas are of B-Cell origin. The association of anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) negative anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL), a very rare form of primary breast lymphoma, with silicone-filled breast implants has been suggested and several case reports supported this proposal, especia...
متن کاملSarcomatoid variant of ALK- anaplastic large cell lymphoma involving multiple lymph nodes and both lungs with production of proinflammatory cytokines: report of a case and review of literature.
Sarcomatoid variant of anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) is one of the rarest histologic variants of ALCL that consists of large, bizarre, often spindle-shaped, neoplastic cells resembling a soft tissue sarcoma. We report here such a case of ALCL with both pulmonary and multiple nodal involvement in a 47-year-old woman who initially presented with fever, cough, sputum, itching skin, and wei...
